Dear IAA Colleague,

At the dawn of a new decade, Marilyn shimmied and The Beatles shook while JFK and Jackie turned the White House into Camelot. Three martini lunches were standard and no one had even heard of cholesterol yet.

The Sixties also began with optimism and boundless creative energy. Madison Avenue was setting the world on fire with slick, smart new advertising as it faced challenges similar to those we see today. New technology was changing the way people interacted and gathered information, much like digital media and the Internet are changing the way we live in the new millennium.

On December 16, 2009, we will celebrate the holidays with "The Real Mad Men of Madison Avenue!", to honor the pioneers who launched a media revolution and raise a glass to the next generation of advertising professionals.
